Aside from its renowned surfing possibilities Jeffreys Bay is also famous for its copius seashells and calamari and is an ideal holiday location with its long stretches of golden sand beaches. Dolphin beach in particular is the recipient of the prestigious Blue Flag status awarded to beaches that meet strict international standards for safety and environmental protection.
Jeffreys Bay is a gateway to the Garden Route which runs from Port Elizabeth to Cape town and is in a prime location for the viewing of Dolphins and Whales especially during the months of June through December when the Southern Right Whales and dolphins arrive from the cold waters of the Antarctic to the warmer waters of the Indian Ocean. Bottle- nosed Dolphins and Humpback Whales can be seen along this part of the coast throughout the year. Orcas and Bryde Whales have also been known to be sighted at rare intervals.
For children there is the Dolphin Beach Entertainment with mini golf, waterslides, and quad bikes.
