Ingredients
1-kilo mutton or beef mince
1 slice white bread
1 cup milk
2 onions chopped
2 tablespoons curry powder
1 tablespoon sugar
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 eggs
2 tablespoons lemon juice.
Salt and pepper according to taste
3 or 4 bay leaves
Chopped almonds
Instructions
- Soak the bread in half the milk and mash finely.
- Fry the chopped onions in the oil, and then add the mashed bread, curry powder, sugar, seasoning, lemon juice, and the minced meat to the onions.
- Mix all together with 1 beaten egg.
- Pour the mixture into a greased pie dish and bake in a moderate oven for about 30 minutes.
- Beat the second egg well with a pinch of salt and pepper and the rest of the milk.
- Pour this over the mince and place the bay leaves on top and the chopped almonds and bake for a further 30 minutes.
- Serve with rice.
