Durban is the largest city in Kwazulu-Natal and the third largest city in South Africa with a population of around 3.5 million. Durban is a busy cosmopolitan city that offers tourists to South Africa as well as local visitors a large variety of leisure activities.
The city of Durban in Kwazulu-Natal was founded in 1835 when a party of white settlers that had been given the land by the Zulu chief Shaka decided to build a town with the intention of making it the capital of the area and name it Durban after Sir Benjamin D’urban who at that time was governor of the Cape Colony. Durban Port in South Africa is, today, the busiest container port in Africa as well as being a tourist mecca and houses an international convention centre that has hosted historic and global conferences.
